I hope you enjoy this piano music. After 31 years of professional gigging mainly as a side-man, touring, sessions, jamming and most everything else that goes along with public and private performance, I have taken a break - 10 years so far. My new career has been teaching private piano lessons, and composing and improvising at the piano for my own enjoyment. The songs on this CD are the result of taking the best from the above experiences and making something of my own - going from “music for hire” to “music of desire”. And for me, it all starts with solo piano.
This is the solo record I have been waiting for my 48 years of being a pianist. I have arrived at a place now where my songs and my "free" playing come together to make this music the most personal statement I've made to date on recording. It is marketed under the New Age genre but I think of it as Neo-Classical Expressionism. Thank you for listening.
